Paso del Norte Arts is a nonprofit organization dedicated to developing, supporting, and elevating creative talent throughout El Paso, Ciudad Juárez, Southern New Mexico, West Texas, and the greater Borderland region.
Our belief is simple: some of the most powerful stories in America are already here.
Our communities are filled with filmmakers, writers, musicians, visual artists, performers, veterans, young people, and emerging creators with extraordinary talent. Too often, however, artists from the Borderland feel they must leave home to find opportunity.
Paso del Norte Arts wants to help change that.
We are building a creative ecosystem that connects education, mentorship, production, funding, collaboration, and workforce development. Our goal is not simply to host workshops or exhibitions. We want to create real pathways that allow people to learn their craft, work alongside experienced professionals, participate in meaningful projects, and eventually build sustainable careers in the creative industries.
Our programs and projects span film and media, literature, visual arts, music, theater, public art, documentary production, youth programming, veteran initiatives, and community-based creative development.
We believe training should lead to opportunity.
A workshop should lead to a project.
A project should lead to experience.
Experience should lead to employment.
And employment should help strengthen the creative economy of our region.
The Borderland is unlike anywhere else in the country. It is shaped by two countries, multiple cultures, generations of Mexican-American history, military families, immigrant communities, ranching towns, desert landscapes, faith, music, art, resilience, and an extraordinary tradition of storytelling.
We believe those stories should be told by the people who live them.
Paso del Norte Arts is also committed to using creativity as a tool for community development. Through partnerships with artists, filmmakers, educators, nonprofit organizations, businesses, veterans, and community leaders, we want to create projects that generate pride, tourism, education, employment, and new economic opportunities throughout the region.
Our vision is for the Paso del Norte region to become one of America's most distinctive emerging creative communities—a place where artists and storytellers can develop their talents without abandoning the communities that shaped them.
